aided by Leo
Oppenneerr in
engineering and construction supervision where the area was combined
into
one exchange,
using a
new building in Addison and the installation of a modern Stromberg
Carlson
XY system. Leo,
retired from
GTE, was Vern's teacher.

This
area was serviced by two exchanges, Addison and Manitou Beach, when
purchased
by the Calhoun Tele. Co. They each had their original Dial
equipment of Leich Relay
systems.
