A pole providing a path for SW from the ceiling area down to the WS. The pole may also house the IO’s. |
| FP | Furniture Panel –
A panel used to provide partitioning between WS’s.
This panel provides a path for SW as well as mounting supports for IO’s.ll fields. |
| HP | Horizontal Pathway
- A conduit or cable tray(plastic or metal),
necessary to support Horizontal Fiber/Copper cables and wire. |
| IO | Information Outlet –
Commonly known as a jack or RJ45,
where the base cord of a telephone or computer is plugged into. |
| OP | Outlet Panel - A panelfor mounting IO’s in. |
| PC | Patch
Cord –
A pair of Fibers made up to a specific length for patching circuits from one PP to another PP. |
| PP | Patch Panel – A frame for mounting circuit connectors |
| RK | Rack – A frame for mounting Electronics and PP’s. |
| TBB | Telecommunications
Bonding Backbone -
A large bonding conductor extending from the TMGB, out to building TGB’s. |
| TC | Telecommunications
Closet - The room where electronic circuits are modified,
the room containing equipment racks, trays and wall fields, before connecting circuits to the WS. |
| TGB | Telecommunication
Grounding Busbar –
A connection base used for bonding Telecommunications EC. |
| TIC | Tie Cable – A group of paired wires enclosed within a sheath. |
| TMGB | Telecommunication Main Grounding Busbar – A large connection base at the building entrance bonded to the Grounding .Electrode System on the inbound neutral side of the electrical power system. |
| TP | Transition Point - See Distribution |
| WC | Wire
Closet – A closet or cabinet containing a WF
for extending Voice Grade circuits to WS's located outside the data limits of any ER or TC. |
| WF | Wall Field – A surface used to mount TH. |
| WS | Work Station – The location each circuit terminates and is utilized by a working employee. |
| WW | Wireway
