METEORITE OVER KINGMAN

Hualapai  Mountains -- April, 1978
The mountains around
Kingman are
LIKE THIS
in the daytime!

One day Vern's family was in Las Vegas for fun.
On the way home, a beautiful dark night with no moon;
Flash, a huge meteor dropped out of the sky!   IT WAS THIS BIG!

To us, it was falling from west to east, right into Kingman.
Bryan & Kelly were sleeping in the back seat.
When we got home, everything was fine.
There was never any news about that meteor, it had fallen harmlessly,
maybe by "CEDAR" above Wikieup, AZ.

In December of 1978, a TV movie aired named "A FIRE IN THE SKY".
The web reveals NO meteors falling Arizona in that time frame.
Now the one we saw, was kind of heading toward Phoenix.
I just thought it was closer.
Perhaps another person who saw the meteor capitalized on it.

A FIRE IN THE SKY is a made-for-television disaster movie that debuted
on NBC on November 26, 1978.
The movie is based on a story by Paul Gallico and is a Bill Driskill
Production in association  with Columbia Pictures Television.
WIKIPEDIA

When we moved to
 Arizona we saw
 the history
along the way.

WELL FOLKS, THE MOVIE WAS WRONG; and so was "I".
What we saw was PARTICALS of METEORITE burning.
If a small stone landed, it would hard to find.
IT'S A NICE STORY THOUGH.
It was my friend in Tucson that helped me get this right.
THANKS HECTOR.
