The name Castle Rock is derived from a rock that sits on top of a hill near the Colorado River waterfront within the Havasu Wildlife Refuge.
The area east, to the Wikieup Exchange, is desert and mountains.
The Needles Mountains are to the North.
East, a few miles, many features
are at Crossman Peak.
Cstle Rock Bay is
within the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge that protects 30 river miles
of shoreline
from Needles, California,
to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The secluded location is
frequently used for hiking and kayaking. Visitors can kayak the northern end of Lake Havasu by
launching at Castle Rock and paddling south with the
current to Mesquite Bay Central.
The four-mile water trail that
many use is a great way to
see part of the refuge from the water and experience part of the Colorado River.
