The
TAMAROA
SWITCHBOARD
The Switchboard was
retired in 1965.

When Vern saw it in
the Hoyleton Warehouse
he heard it would be
burned up with the
other removed wooded
telephone gear.

Vern asked the Hoyleton
Manager, Lowell Bender,
If he could have it.
THE ANSWER WAS YES!

So right away Vern had
his assistant engineer,
Bob Kuhn, if he would
put the Switchboard in
his truck and take it to
his house in New Minden.

Bob and Vern were
very good friends.

Bob was also an
excellent cable splicer
and maintenance man
who had worked
for the company
for many years
before and after
Vern worked for
the Telephone company.

In 2018,
after Vern had
carried the switchboard
around the  U. S.
since 1965,
Vern donated the
Switchboard to the
Independent
Telephone Association
MUSEUM in
Hinesville, Georgia.
