passed through this airport three times in 1984. Twice in the summer
and once in the winter. The winter visit was disappointing in that they
had a warm spell and he couldn't experience the extreme cold. The
first trip back to Seattle was cool. Vern had a 1st class seat in the
nose of a 747 and watched the sun follow the horizon all the way. the
sun then rose in Seattle. |

The aerial photo below is newer than the photo above  In
the current Google image below, it appears there has been more
expansion on the east side of the airport that the west. The water
runway is much longer.

John II stopped here in May of 1984 where he met with President Reagan.
